Frantoio Agraria Riva del Garda is more than an olive oil mill. It is a cooperative story shaped by Lake Garda, the mountains of Trentino and the hands of growers who have protected one of Italy’s most distinctive olive-growing landscapes for generations. Founded in 1926, Agraria today counts around 360 members committed to quality, short supply chains and local ingredients.

Set in Riva del Garda, where Alpine air meets a surprisingly Mediterranean microclimate, Agraria produces extra virgin olive oil in one of the world’s northernmost olive-growing areas. Lake Garda’s breezes soften the Alpine climate, allowing olive trees to thrive in a landscape that feels both mountain and Mediterranean at once.

The olive mill was founded in 1965, and in 1998 became the first mill to produce DOP Garda Trentino extra virgin olive oil. Since 2009, the mill has also been certified for organic production — a combination of tradition, cooperative farming and technical precision that sets Agraria apart.

What makes Frantoio Agraria Riva del Garda olive oil special?

Garda Trentino olive oil is unlike the richer, heavier oils of warmer southern regions. Here, olive trees grow at the edge of possibility in a landscape described as a “Mediterranean oasis nestled in the Dolomite Mountains”. Each batch is pressed individually and cold-extracted at controlled temperature, preserving aromas, flavour and nutritional properties. Agraria manages around 270 hectares and processes between 6,000 and 8,500 quintals of olives annually.

FIRST DOP MILL (1998)

In 1998, Agraria became the first mill to produce DOP Garda Trentino extra virgin olive oil — a landmark in the region’s olive oil history.

ORGANIC SINCE 2009

Organic certified since 2009, reflecting a long-term commitment to quality, traceability and respect for the Lake Garda landscape.

INDIVIDUAL BATCH PRESSING

Each batch is pressed individually and cold-extracted, preserving the unique aromatic character of Garda Trentino olives from grove to bottle.

COOPERATIVE ROOTS

Around 360 members and 1,200 local growers. Agraria represents approximately 65% of Garda Trentino’s total olive oil production.
